Follow
the yellow tourist marks to the centre of the village.
Near the Morava Hotel you can see a wooden log house,
which was used as an elementary school for 9 children
from 1803-1808. In the village centre there is St. Joseph's
Church, built between 1802-1806. A new carillon has
recently been installed there; it consists of 11 bells,
weighing from 4 to 89 kg. It plays four tunes at 10:00
and 17:00, which are changed every quarter. On holidays
the carillon is also played at noon. In front of the
church there is a statue of St. Joseph. The former rectory
(now a post office) is interesting due to a plate between
the windows, denoting the water level during the big
flood on July 3, 1900. The village was officially recognised
in 1601.
Continue
to the left, past the shop, towards Lanov, to the first
bust stop. There you find a blue-marked routefrom Vrchlabi,
which you will follow along a narrow road. You pass
a few houses, called Hadek, to the game preserve. Here
about 30 to 40 deer gather around feed racks in winter.
Then up a narrow valley to 1000 m, to Rejdiste, passing
a few former water tanks of the Lanov water mains, which
date back to the 1930s. Here you can continue along
the blue-marked route to Hrncirske Boudy, or yellow-marked
route to Tetrevi Boudy. The longer way via the Hrncirske
Boudy and Bobi Louky takes about one-and half hours
longer, with possible refreshments at Bobi Louky.
From
Tetrevi Boudy you can go down the green-marked route
to Zlaty Mlyn and Dolni Dvur. Cf. Dolni Dvur - Zlaty
Mlyn. The total time of the trip is 6 to 8 hours, out
of which about 2.5 hours is demanding, up a steep slope.
You can go the longer way, once on the ridge.
