Follow
the yellow tourist marks to the centre of the village.
Near the Morava Hotel you can see a wooden log house,
which was used as elementary school for 9 children from
1803-1808. In the village centre there is St. Joseph's
Church, built between 1802-1806. A new carillon has
recently been installed there; it consists of 11 bells,
weighing from 4 to 89 kg. It plays four tunes at 10:00
and 17:00, which are changed every quarter. On holidays
the carillon is also played at noon. In front of the
church there is a statue of St. Joseph. The former rectory
(now a post office) is interesting due to a plate between
the windows, denoting the water level during the big
flood on July 3, 1900. The village was officially recognised
in 1061.
Then
along the yellow-marked route across the bridge over
Klinovy Potok stream to Zimni Stran; after 1 km, follow
the blue marks coming from Tetrevi Boudy. Then on the
meadows on the slope of Vapenice (786 m above sea level),
with a nice view of Lanov Valley, closed on horizon
by Zvicina (620 m above sea level). In the swamps there
are stork nests.
After
one and half hours of a slow walk, you come to the town
of Vrchlabí, to whose manor Dolní Dvur used to belong.
