Your
two-hour walk will go to Zlaty Mlyn (Gold Mill): You
set off along the bitumen road, upstream the Kotelsky
Potok. In front of you, you can see Lisci Hora (1363
m), dominating over Dolni Dvur. To the left of its summit
there is Dvorska Bouda.
Near
the traffic sign denoting the end of the village, there
used to be an iron hammer-mill, closed in 1898. First
mentions of iron ore date back to 1629. There used to
be 11 mines in Rudolfov alone in the 17 century. Coming
to the crossing with the green-marked tourist route
from Hanapetrovy Paseky, you turn right towards Tetrevi
Boudy. Passing Godrovy Domky on the left and entering
the forest you find yourself in another mining area
- there used to be gold mines here. Up on the left there
is Zvonicka, the only preserved one. After a twenty-minute
walk you get to a Gold Grinder, which is said to have
been used for grinding gold ore. The first written mentions
of that date back to 1738. Later it was re-built into
a restaurant, and has been used as such till now. You
can get splendid refreshments here, in a stylish interior.
If you feel like making your trip an hour longer, you
can go up the path, about 100 m, and back to the left,
along the road, past Zvonicka and Kotelni Boudy to Dolni
Dvur.
